BarBobby Privacy Policy

• The only account information we require is your email address. You may also set a display name.
• We do not store your date of birth. We ask for it only to confirm you're of legal drinking age, then discard it. We keep an anonymous count of birth years that is not linked to you or your account.
• When you scan a bottle, the photo is processed and immediately discarded — we never store it.
• If you host a party, any guest emails you add are deleted automatically after your party date.
• We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the app. We do not sell your personal information.
• You can delete your account and personal data at any time from within the app.

Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address (used to sign in and to send account-related email). You may optionally set a display name, and in some cases a first name and last initial. Your display name is personal information because it is associated with your account, whatever you choose it to be.

Subscription information. If you upgrade to Premium, payment is processed by Stripe. We receive identifiers from Stripe (such as a customer ID and subscription ID) and your subscription status. We never see or store your full card number — Stripe handles that directly.

Content you create in the app.This includes the recipes you save, the ingredients in your virtual cabinet, the star ratings you leave, and any feedback you send us. Feedback messages are free text, so please don't include sensitive information you don't want us to have.

Party hosting. If you create a party, we store the party details you enter — title, description, date, and any optional location or contact information you choose to add. If you add guests, we store the guest names and email addresses you provide so the app can pre-fill invitations for you. Guest emails are stored only to help you send invitations and are automatically deleted after your party's date. If you add guests to a party with no date set, those guest emails are deleted after a short period. Because guests are not BarBobby account holders, you should only add the contact details of people who are comfortable being invited this way.

Age verification. BarBobby is intended only for people of legal drinking age (21+ in the US). We ask for your date of birth to confirm eligibility. We do not store your date of birth. Separately, we keep an aggregate, anonymous count of visitors' birth years to understand the general age range of our audience. This count is not tied to your account, your email, or any identifier, and cannot be traced back to you.

Bottle photos (Snap Bottle). When you photograph a bottle to add it to your cabinet, the image is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to identify the spirit, then processed and immediately discarded.We do not store bottle photos. We do keep a monthly count of how many scans you've used, to enforce plan limits.

Usage and device information. Like most websites, we collect basic usage and device information through analytics. See Cookies and analytics below.

• Essential cookieskeep you signed in and remember that you've passed age verification. The app doesn't work properly without these.
• Analytics. We use Google Analyticsto understand how the app is used (pages viewed, general location, device type) so we can improve it. You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on, or by using your browser's privacy controls.

We use the information above to: provide and operate the app; create and manage your account; process Premium subscriptions; send you account-related and transactional email; confirm you're of legal drinking age; respond to your feedback; understand and improve how the app is used; and protect the app against abuse.

We share information only with service providers who process it on our behalf so the app can function:

• Supabase — database and account authentication hosting
• Stripe — payment processing for Premium subscriptions
• Resend — delivery of account and transactional emails
• Anthropic — bottle photo identification (images are transient and not stored)
• Google Analytics (Google) — usage analytics
• Vercel — application hosting and server logs

These providers are permitted to use your information only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if required by law. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

• Account information and content are kept while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal information and the content tied to it.
• Guest emails for party hosting are deleted automatically after the party date (or after a short period for parties with no date).
• Bottle photos are never retained.
• Aggregate birth-year counts are not personal information and may be kept indefinitely, because they cannot be linked to anyone.
• Analytics data is retained according to Google's standard retention settings.

You can:

• Access or correct your account information from within the app (Account > Profile).
• Cancel your Premium subscription without deleting your account (Account > Account & Subscription > Cancel Subscription).
• Delete your account and personal data from within the app (Account > Account & Subscription > Delete Account). This permanently removes your profile, saved recipes, cabinet, ratings, and other personal data.
• Opt out of analytics using your browser controls or Google's opt-out add-on.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the EU/UK GDPR or the California privacy laws (for example, the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights). To exercise any of these, contact us at support@barbobby.comand we'll honor applicable requests.

BarBobby is intended only for adults of legal drinking age. It is not directed to anyone under 21, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we'll remove it.

We protect your information using row-level security on our database, encryption in transit, and reputable infrastructure providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to an app of this size.

If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of BarBobby after a change means you accept the updated policy.
